Joe has had a very busy week! On Tues. our library invited the NC Aquarium to do a program for the kids about life in the marsh. It was really for kids older then 3, but Joe liked a lot of it. His favorite was the turtles they brought to show the kids. He also learned about otters, osprey, and alligators!
Friday was packed with things to do! He started out by "helping" Daddy and friends "flip" the new skiff. This has to be done by hand and takes many friends to help. Joe liked seeing all the guys in the boat shop! First Joe posed with the boat as it sat while Jay was building it. Hello, Captain Morgan!
Then, we got OUT of the WAY, so the guys could flip the skiff over onto the trailer. Then Joe posed with the flipped skiff. This is how it will sit while Jay finishes the project.
After flipping the skiff, our friend Jimmy of JB's Lawn Care came to the Rod & Gun to trim the grass. Joe got to go for a ride on the lawn mower. This is one of his favorite things to help with at work!
Friday afternoon we made a guess that Joe's Watermelons he has been growing might be ready to pick. At least, a couple of them are! Joe and Grandaddy Bryan found the two biggest watermelons and carefully twisted the stems to pick the melon. Joe was very excited! Now they are in the cooler and we will cut them open today to see if we were right! This has been a fun project for Joe and he has waited since April to see if the watermelons would grow!
See you all next week!
